Wide Shot Terms of Use

Last revised: July 2026

About us and these terms

Everything is Something ("we", "us", "our") is a sole trader operating in Victoria, Australia. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Wide Shot, our daily film and television guessing game, available at wide-shot.com (the Service).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Access and eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Wide Shot is free to play and does not require an account. If you choose to create one, you agree to:

  • Provide an email address you control
  • Keep sign-in codes sent to you confidential
  • Take responsibility for activity that occurs under your account

Accounts are personal and non-transferable.

The game

Wide Shot publishes one puzzle per day. Scores, streaks, and daily statistics are provided for entertainment. We may adjust game rules, scoring, difficulty, or features at any time, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) without liability, though we will aim to give reasonable notice of any permanent discontinuation.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Access the Service by automated means, including bots, scrapers, or scripted play
  • Attempt to extract puzzle answers, image assets, or data from the Service other than through normal play
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or place undue load on the Service or its infrastructure
  • Misrepresent your results or manipulate aggregate statistics
  • Use the Service in violation of any applicable law

We may suspend or terminate access, including accounts, for conduct that breaches these Terms.

Intellectual property

The Service — including its name, design, code, game mechanics, and original content — is owned by Everything is Something and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding.

Film and television imagery: the frames shown in the game are promotional and editorial imagery relating to films and television programmes, accessed via the TMDB API and used to identify the works in question. All rights in the underlying works and imagery remain with their respective copyright holders. No affiliation with, or endorsement by, any studio, network, or rights holder is implied.

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Rights holders: if you own rights in imagery displayed by the Service and would like it reviewed or removed, contact us at the address below. We respond to such requests promptly.

Metadata about films and television programmes is provided by TMDB and subject to their terms of use.

Sharing your results

The share feature generates a text summary of your daily result. You are free to share it anywhere. It contains no personal information and does not reveal puzzle answers.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability. We do not guarantee that puzzles will publish without interruption or that scores, streaks, or statistics will be preserved without loss.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited, at our option, to resupplying the Service or paying the cost of resupply.

Termination

You may stop using the Service, or request deletion of your account, at any time. We may suspend or terminate the Service or your access to it as described in these Terms. Provisions which by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property and liability provisions) survive.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revision date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be noted on this page, and your continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
